Gold Convertible / Reverse Gold Convertible Structured Product (GCI) is a structured product that links both cash and gold to present you with opportunities to gain potentially higher returns as compared to ordinary fixed deposits.
How to start investing?
Step 1:
Eligible investors will be required to choose both the Investment Denomination and Convertible Reference
Step 2:
Select preferred Investment Tenor (Choice of a minimum of 2 days to a maximum of 365 days) and Conversion Rate.
Step 3:
Decide Principal Amount. Minimum RM40,000 or its equivalent in USD or gold (in grams) as available in the Investor’s CIMB Bank GIA, rounded to the nearest 1 gram at a rate stipulated by the Bank
For Gold Convertible, Investment Denomination can be in the form of MYR or USD with the Convertible Reference as paper gold in CIMB Gold Investment Account. Upon maturity, the Bank has the right to repay the Principal Amount either in the Investment Denomination or paper gold in CIMB Gold Investment Account at the pre-agreed Conversion Rate between the Bank and you. You will also receive the Coupon Amount in the Investment Denomination (MYR or USD).
For Reverse Gold Convertible, Investment Denomination invested will be in the form of paper gold in your CIMB Gold Investment Account with the Convertible Reference in MYR or USD. Upon maturity, the Bank has the right to repay the Principal Amount either in paper gold in CIMB Gold Investment Account or in the Convertible Reference in MYR or USD at the pre-agreed Conversion Rate between the Bank and you. You will also receive the Coupon Amount in the Convertible Reference (MYR or USD).
